Trusted Fire Protection for Over 20 Years

Fire Protection to Trust

Founded in 2003, Stopfire Ltd has become Scotland’s industry leader in passive fire protection. With an emphasis on quality and safety, Stopfire Ltd has successfully completed projects on many of the United Kingdom’s most iconic buildings, including The OVO Hydro in Glasgow, The St James Quarter in Edinburgh, and the redevelopment of Battersea Power Station in London. Through the companies’ inception 20 years ago to working on mega projects such as these, Stopfire is constantly reminded of one key component that is at the heart of every project it undertakes: the client.

Stopfire is well-positioned to service the entirety of Scotland and Northern England, including Newcastle and Carlisle, with offices situated on the outskirts of both Edinburgh and Glasgow. This allows Stopfire to provide an unparalleled product to a significant portion of the United Kingdom.

Offsite Works

With a 53,000 square foot factory situated in the Flemington Industrial Estate, a short distance outside of Motherwell, Stopfire also offers offsite possibilities. In this location, we perform shotblasting and apply specialised coating systems, such as intumescent passive fire protection, in a well-served facility with multiple overhead cranes and a sizeable laydown area. There are numerous benefits to offsite fire protection which include;

  • The ability to control environments, which in turn optimises the intumescent application process and allows us to use certain paints the Scottish climate otherwise wouldn’t allow.
  • Site efficiency is greatly improved due to reduced footfall on site, leading to a more streamlined construction process.
  • Eliminating the need to spray at heights and numerous other safety hazards significantly improves site safety.
  • Since nearby buildings and their occupants are no longer concerned about overspray, some locations won't need to be blocked off during development.
  • Better air quality for all other on-site trades results from less solvents.

Onsite Works

As a specialist contractor, Stopfire Ltd is a recommended installer of a wide range of leading fire protection products. We can offer systems achieving up to four hours fire protection to steelwork, service penetrations, compartmentation walls and floors along with other allied applications such as air sealing and thermal insulation.

Sprayed Coatings offer a cost effective range of systems for fire protection to structural steelwork. Fast application times ensure our works are completed at an early stage with minimal disruption to other trades.
